Love this!! I’ve been thinking all week about what celeb has the perfect level of fame and maybe it’s maggie? Sells out MSG but could also probably go to lunch or the grocery store without a Taylor Swift level incident?
i love this!! i work in film and tv, and fame is so icky to me, and i hate it when people ask if that's what i want. some people handle it really well, but i have a major issue with feeling misrepresented, and i think i would shrivel up if someone said they heard i was a c*nt. one of my friends pointed out that this happens all the time as a normal, non-famous person, but it's just on a much larger level as a celebrity. this essay is such a lovely, human reflection, and i'm proud of maggie, too.
I saw Maggie Rogers play in London in 2019 with Florence Welch on a full moon. So lovely to hear her making her dreams come true, I think about her all the time.
Great observation on celebs, I'd bloody hate to be watched all the time!
saw her on Sunday - before the last song she stopped playing and asked to restart so she could just pause and take in the moment (last song! with her band! at MSG!) 🥲 everything she wanted
i saw maggie two years ago in DC and it was one of those nights that's stuck with me for such a long time. i loved reading this so much, your writing is everything!
